Just Say NO!
READER BEWARE: The post below may remind you of a regretful experience...
Joe and Julie attended a birthday party this past Sunday (Hey Parkers Hey!) and received their first tattoos. Joe was so excited, he got his first. Julie, rather sheepishly, followed suit. At first, they were both proud to show off their cool tats.
Then, with reservations, Julie began to pick at her body art;
"off, off" was her gentle mantra.
She realized that the tat is temporarily permanent...
and instantly regreted her decision.
She paused for strength,
"OOOOFFFFFFFF" is the cry of the distressed one.
It's good to learn these lessons about the consequences of choices early in life. I'm going to let this expereince sink in for some time, then help her wash it off, cause this Mama is always there for her girl (after she learns her lesson).

Sew What's Up?
I've been playing around with re-purposing clothing items to create little girl clothes. Below are two outfits that I made from a shirt and a sweater. Look closely to see if you can figure out what pieces went where!...
The first pictures are of the outfit with legwarmers, I prefer the last pic with jeans...
Next time you talk to this mama you can ask "Sew what's up?"

Episodes of Mom 2
On The Phone With Mom
Mom and I talk on the phone. It's mostly a one-sided conversation when speaking to a left-brain affected stroke victim, but there are often times when Mom will pipe up and speak her mind. This is a snipet from a recent phone conversation Mom and I had.Mom: singing on and on and on, a lot of la la las, a coupla baby boys and one-da-ones thrown in there.
Peggy Anne: Mom, you have a beautiful singing voice!
Mom: Iknow! (said quickly)
Peggy Anne: Mom, that's rude. When someone compliments you, you should say "thank you".
Mom: (thoughtful pause) No! (said in a pixie-sort-of-freedom voice)
slight pause, then we both roll with laughter
She's cute and funny...
but I think she was being serious.

Monkey See Monkey Shoot
I often take pictures through the glass of the back door; it's WAY too cold to open a door to capture the back yard on film (or in mega-pixels I guess). Joe has seen me do this and recently decided to document the backyard in his own way. So beautiful looking out...
from inside where it is still warm. Here's to soft blankets and slippers...and an episode of Law and Order.

Financial Report On The Snow Last Week
This is our driveway, 6 inches to 2 feet deep due to drifting, after the snow last week.
It looks great, if I do say so myself.
It was HAND SHOVELED. (Yes, look back at the pic, believe it.)
Some may say I am frugal, strong, good to the environment.
I say I'm a stubborn Mama who would rather spend her extra cash (of which there is none) on, oh I don't know, perhaps a vehicle that runs? Never mind, that's another story...
Sincerely,
Trapped at Home During the Day with Two Curtain Climbers
Please send chocolate...and juicy cheeseburgers.
