On The Phone With Mom

 Mom and I talk on the phone. It's mostly a one-sided conversation when speaking to a left-brain affected stroke victim, but there are often times when Mom will pipe up and speak her mind. This is a snipet from a recent phone conversation Mom and I had.


Mom: singing on and on and on, a lot of la la las, a coupla baby boys and one-da-ones thrown in there.
Peggy Anne: Mom, you have a beautiful singing voice!
Mom: Iknow!  (said quickly)
Peggy Anne: Mom, that's rude. When someone compliments you, you should say "thank you".
Mom: (thoughtful pause) No! (said in a pixie-sort-of-freedom voice)
slight pause, then we both roll with laughter

She's cute and funny...

but I think she was being serious.
