Playgroup Today

We hosted a impromptu playgroup at our house today.  I told the kids it was going to be warm out so they should wear light clothes.  This was my conversation with Joe:

J: Mommy, I wear SNOW PANTS today cause I gonna be HOT!
M: Joe, it will feel hot outside today, you want your body to feel cool, wear these pants.
J: NOOOOOOO Mommy, I wear SNOW PANTS.  Dey keep me WAAARRRRMMM.
M: (digging through a box of summer clothes from last year) How about some shorts?  These will help your body stay cool.
J: NO! SNOW PANTS KEEP ME WARM!
M: (Holding up hands in defeat) Okay, wear the snow pants! (I leave the room).

Next thing I see as I come back in from the garage...

Yes, those are the bib snow pants, ready for some springtime action in the sand box with friends...and Christmas socks, I'm not one to complain, the kid is taking care of himself.

About an hour after playing outside, Joe stripped down to his shorts and t-shirt claiming "Mommy, deese snow pant are making me SWEATY!"  This is a child who learns by doing; his great grandfather was from Missouri ya know, the Show Me State.

I'm not sure where our dear friend Finn's great grandfather is from...
but we like his style.

  1. Let's see... Great grandfathers from Pennsylvania and Ohio. Looks a little Pennsylvania Dutch, yes?
